Daniel Allegrucci and Seirin Nagano (MFA AP13) are participating in the Governors Island Art Fair this month. The island was used by the military for years but is now run by the city and is the site of a full schedule of cultural programming from Spring to Fall. One Hundred artists are set up in former barracks on Colonels Row and are utilizing any and all spaces in these buildings. A lot of visitors rent or bring a bicycle to explore the island. The fair is open every full weekend of September from 11am-6pm: Sept 5 & 6, 12 & 13, 19 & 20, and 26 & 27.

Animal Architectures , a one night popup show featuring new work by Daniel Allegrucci (MFA AP13), Seirin Nagano (MFA AP13), Dana Osburn (MFA AP14) and curated by Sarah G Sharp (AP Faculty), navigates the ever-evolving territory of communication without relying on primitivist rhetoric or cyborgian fantasy by using and re-purposing the materials of contemporary industry to talk about memory, heartache and the body, the grotesque and the tender. The popup show will be held at Wyrthe Studio on Friday April 24th.
