Art Practice faculty member and mentor, Carrie Mae Weems, has organized a 10 hour long "convening," at the Park Avenue Armory this Sunday, December 17th– the culmination of her year long residency there. She's invited more than 50 artists, performers, curators, writers and activists to address domestic, political, racist, sexual, verbal, physical and environmental violence. Our own David A. Ross, (AP Chair), will be there, alongside Patrick Stansfield Jones, performing songs from their "Singing Truth to Power" set. Laura van Straaten writes about the project for The New York Times.
